HSV loses Pherai: Elversberg hesitates on purchase option. The club has not exercised the option for Surinamese international Immanuel Pherai. Now Pherai faces a departure from HSV. Pherai was on loan at Elversberg in the second half of the season and was considered a strong candidate for a permanent move. But now the club is hesitating. The decision is reflected in the numbers. Pherai played 13 games in the second half of the season, started 11 times, and scored two goals and two assists. He contributed to Elversberg's sensational promotion. The numbers show, however, why those in charge have started to have second thoughts. Pherai showed solid performances, but he couldn't make a lasting impression that would have left Elversberg with no choice but to sign him permanently. Unlike Lukasz Poreba, who established himself as an undisputed starter, Pherai left positive but not outstanding marks. That could become a problem for HSV. If Elversberg lets the purchase option expire, Pherai will have to look for a new club. The 25-year-old certainly has no sporting future left in the Hanseatic city.
