Hamburger SV has signed Danish national player Albert Grønbæk from Stade Rennes for €4.7 million. The 25-year-old is the most expensive HSV purchase since 2017. Thomas Gravesen, former star of the club, is convinced that Grønbæk will do well for HSV. Gravesen says: „He demands the ball, has a lot of pace and great technique, and sets up his teammates well.“ Grønbæk already came to HSV in the second half of the 2025/26 season as a loan player and was able to score one goal and two assists in seven games. The Danish national player will help HSV, Gravesen is convinced. However, certain conditions must be met by the player and the club. Gravesen says: „Albert is a player who needs the trust of the coach.“ HSV will prepare for the new season and hopes that Grønbæk will play an important role. The fans of the club are excited to see how the new player will perform. Other clubs like FC Southampton and Genua CFC have already signed Grønbæk, but HSV is convinced that he is the right club for the young player. So Grønbæk will help HSV achieve its goals. The transfer of Grønbæk is an important step for HSV to be successful in the new season. But the club also needs to sign other players to build a strong team. The future of HSV looks promising, thanks to the transfer of Albert Grønbæk.
