Hamburger SV: Didi Beiersdorfer returns to Hamburg after leaving his role as managing director at FC Ingolstadt. The 62-year-old former star defender of the Hamburg team is back in the city after four and a half years. Beiersdorfer was active for the HSV from 1986 to 1992 in 211 games and scored 16 goals. Later, he was also sports director and chairman of the board in Hamburg. As managing director at FC Ingolstadt, Beiersdorfer has achieved a lot, but the return to the 2nd league has not been successful. The player budget in the professional and youth sector had to be reduced every year after the relegation in 2022. However, Beiersdorfer has also had positive experiences in Ingolstadt, such as the appointment of Sabrina Wittmann as head coach in the summer of 2024. Wittmann is still in office. Beiersdorfer is now back in Hamburg and has already extended his season tickets for the Volksparkstadion. He will certainly be a regular guest in the arena in the new season. Beiersdorfer has not finished yet and is open to future projects, in football, but also beyond. As a true pioneer, Beiersdorfer proved himself when he was the first club boss to appoint a female head coach, Sabrina Wittmann, in German professional football. Beiersdorfer owns four season tickets for the Volksparkstadion and will certainly be seen often in the new season. He has always remembered his time at FC Ingolstadt in good memory and will use his experiences to be successful in the future.
